Ricardas “Boo” Lukasevicius has left Team Heretics after four years with the organization. The confirmed departure closes a run that began with his Tier 1 debut in 2022 and developed into repeated regional and international finals, followed by titles in 2025 and 2026. Heretics thanked its long-time in-game leader for his commitment and team-first approach. Neither Boo’s next destination nor a completed replacement has been announced.
Longevity defines the move as much as the result. Boo played 134 series and 327 maps for Heretics, winning 75 series and losing 59. Those totals cover several versions of the roster and show that the separation is not a short-term bench change. He was part of the team’s leadership structure across the transition from an emerging EMEA lineup to a regular international contender.
The organization used a farewell video to look back on that period. Current and former teammates, coaches and staff contributed messages, as did his brother and former teammate MiniBoo. Heretics emphasized dedication, commitment and Boo’s willingness to place the group above himself rather than attaching the decision to one recent result.
The announcement confirms that the relationship has ended. It does not say where Boo will play next, whether he intends to keep calling, or who will take over those responsibilities inside Heretics. Those questions remain open until the player and organization provide further roster information.
Four years produced a delayed breakthrough
The 2024 season established Heretics as an international threat without delivering a trophy. The team reached two regional grand finals and lost to Fnatic and Karmine Corp. Its international runs went even further: Heretics finished second to Gen.G at Masters Shanghai and second to EDward Gaming at Champions.
Those four runner-up finishes made consistency visible while leaving the roster without the title that its deep runs appeared to promise. Success arrived in 2025 at the Esports World Cup, giving Boo and Heretics their first trophy together. The team then won VCT EMEA Stage 1 in 2026, adding Boo’s first regional championship.
The sequence matters because it prevents the four-year tenure from being reduced either to near misses or to its final season. Boo led through the painful finals, remained with the project and later converted that experience into championships. His departure follows the completed arc rather than erasing the earlier losses that shaped it.
Heretics now has a leadership problem to solve as well as an open roster position. Replacing an in-game leader affects communication, preparation and mid-round responsibility, even if the incoming player can reproduce the same Agent roles. The announcement does not identify a new caller, so assigning that job to a remaining player would be speculation.
The wider roster is already less settled. Koshmaras has permission to explore options, while benjyfishy, Wo0t and RieNs are the three listed members remaining from the core assembled in 2023. Boo is described as the first departure from the original four-player group. No further exit should be treated as complete until it is officially announced.
Changes to the VCT structure in 2027 add context to the timing, but the available report does not provide a final Heretics lineup for that season. The club can rebuild around the remaining players, make broader changes or redefine roles. At present, only Boo’s departure and the existing permission for Koshmaras to explore are confirmed.
Both sides enter an undefined next phase
Boo leaves with evidence that he can guide a roster through different competitive stages. His Heretics record includes domestic development, four major runner-up finishes and two later championships. The 75-59 series record also shows a positive result across a long sample rather than one isolated run.
His next team will determine how that experience is used. He could continue as an IGL, take another leadership role or join a system with shared calling. None of those possibilities has been confirmed. The careful description is that he is no longer a Heretics player and has not announced his next organization.
Heretics must decide how much of its established identity to preserve. The remaining core carries experience from the same international campaigns, but the voice that led much of that period is gone. Future signings and an explicit calling structure will show whether this is a targeted change or the start of a larger rebuild.
