The systems do not share one progress track. A viewer can unlock a title or spray by meeting a watch-time requirement, while the gun buddy and player card tied to Shotcall require points or a high placement. Pick’Ems has its own schedule and cumulative reward structure.
The simplest rewards come from watching official coverage. Riot says at least 30 minutes of viewing during the group stage or playoffs unlocks the Prepared title. The same minimum during the Grand Final unlocks the Stamp of Approval spray. These are tournament-phase requirements, so time watched during an earlier stage should not be described as completing the Grand Final condition.
Shotcall adds active predictions to the official VCT Twitch broadcast and is limited to desktop. Participants make calls about maps, rounds and important moments while matches are being played. Correct predictions add points across Champions Shanghai. Reaching 50 points awards The Catch title, while reaching 300 points awards the Crab Buddy gun buddy. A separate performance condition awards the Trophy player card to anyone who finishes in the top 3% on any map.
That final condition is different from reaching a fixed total. A viewer can build toward 50 or 300 points across the event, but the player card depends on a strong placement within one map’s Shotcall competition. The official article does not say that simply opening the broadcast or making one prediction is enough for those Shotcall items.
Pick’Ems follows a different calendar
The group-stage prediction window has already closed. Picks opened on September 10 and locked on September 24 at approximately 2:10 AM PT, shortly after the tournament’s first match began. Fans who did not submit that portion cannot retroactively enter group picks after seeing the opening results.
There is still a separate playoff window. Riot plans to open those selections on October 4 after the Draw Show establishes the bracket. Playoff picks lock on October 7 at approximately 2:10 AM PT, again shortly after the first match of that stage begins. The gap between the two windows gives participants a new decision point once all eight playoff teams and their opening matchups are known.
Pick’Ems can be completed in the VALORANT client or through the official esports website. Riot also lists regional exclusions and notes that local rules can affect eligibility. A valid Riot Account is required to participate and receive available rewards, so the prediction game should not be presented as universally available in every territory.
Pick’Ems rewards are cumulative. Participation provides the Calculated title, and a finish inside the top 50% adds the Stone of Heaven gun buddy. Perfect picks award the 100% title. Cumulative means a player who reaches a higher qualifying tier keeps the lower rewards attached to the same prediction program.
The three systems therefore measure different kinds of engagement. Broadcast drops reward verified viewing time. Shotcall measures live prediction activity on Twitch desktop. Pick’Ems scores a submitted tournament bracket. Calling all of them drops would hide meaningful requirements and could cause a viewer to expect an item from the wrong platform.
The timing also matters. Champions runs from September 24 to October 18, but not every task remains available for the entire event. Group Pick’Ems is closed, playoff Pick’Ems has not opened yet, and the Grand Final spray is tied specifically to the final broadcast. Shotcall progress can be earned over Champions through the supported Twitch experience.
A practical way to track the three systems
Viewers interested only in the confirmed watch rewards should use an official broadcast and make sure the relevant stage receives at least 30 minutes of eligible viewing. Someone targeting the Stamp of Approval spray must repeat that process during the Grand Final rather than relying on time accumulated in groups or playoffs.
Shotcall participants need the desktop version of the official VCT Twitch stream. They should treat The Catch title and Crab Buddy as event-long point goals, while the Trophy player card depends on placing in the top 3% for a map. The official announcement does not guarantee that a particular number of individual predictions will produce those results because correct calls determine the score.
For Pick’Ems, the next actionable date is October 4. Waiting until the Draw Show finishes ensures the playoff teams and pairings are confirmed, but selections still need to be saved before the October 7 lock. Checking account eligibility before that deadline is safer than assuming the prediction rewards apply in every location.
Champions Shanghai’s viewer program is broader than one set of passive drops. Watching official broadcasts, playing Shotcall on desktop Twitch and submitting Pick’Ems each unlock different items under different conditions.
